for a superb final hole victory over club mates Andy McLoughney & Curtis Dean at Fairhaven Golf Club. Paul’s win keeps him on course for a rare ‘double’ as he faces Andy McLoughney in the final of the Fylde Matchplay at Royal Lytham on 31 Aug 2010.

I would also like to thank Graham Maly from the North Region PGA and the hard-working scoreboard officiando Paul Clark for allowing us the use of the score board again this year. Thanks also to Mr Hannis Sr for looking after all the competitors at first light and also John Roberts and David Hannis for looking after the score cards, a special thank you to Peter Riddle for acting as ‘Mr. Starter’ on the 10th hole. Interesting facts from the Fylde Amateur 2010
MOST BIRDED HOLE
· The hole most birdied was the 3rd with 41 birdies over the two rounds, which also played the easiest of the whole course with an average of 4.67.
MOST SHOTS ON A SINGLE HOLE
· The most number of shots on any hole was 12 all scored on the 16th hole (Names have been omitted!).
ROUNDS IN THE 100’S
· Although there were 12 Nil Returns, no golfer shot a round in the 100’s in the whole event.
MOST DIFFICULT HOLE
· The most difficult hole on the day was – ‘surprise surprise’ the 16th with a stroke average of 4.93 this included 9 N/R’s and 10 scores worse than double bogey and no birdies recorded at all.
MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB
· St. Anne’s Old Links had 5 golfers in the top 10 gross over the two rounds, which included the first three places.
MOST BIRDIES IN THE TOURNAMENT
· The player scoring the most birdies in the tournament was Lee Mayers (Fairhaven) – 9 Birdies
MR CONSISTENCY- MOST PARS IN THE TOURNAMENT
· The player scoring the most pars in the tournament was Ian Hill (Royal Lytham) – 24 Pars
